Other If you have any problems with supplies or performance of the equipment in your room, please tell a nurse or staff member. Beaufort County Medical Center will make every effort to allow access to clergy members when the patient or family desires their services. The presence of the clergy is welcomed and encouraged. Beaufort County Medical Center has two chaplains available on call. If you would like a visit from one of these chaplains, please inform your nurse. If you prefer pastoral care from you own church, you or a family member should contact them directly. Beaufort County Medical Center is proud to offer a smoke and tobacco-free campus to patients and staff. This policy is designed to provide all patients and staff with a safe and comfortable environment while promoting healthy lifestyles throughout our community. This policy prohibits the use of any tobacco products on the campus of both BCMC and its subsidiaries, including parking lots and personal vehicles. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to cigarettes, cigars, chewing tobacco, and pipe smoking. LifeStyles Medical Fitness Center offers smoking cessation classes to assist members of the community who desire to stop smoking; call 975-4236 for more information. Lifeline is a personal emergency response system that allows people to call for help from their home, even if they are not able to reach a phone. The program is operated by the Patient and Family Services Department and is available for a small charge. For more information call 975-4176.
